Welcome to POP Mama POP! My name is Kathleen Hackett and I love making popcorn.
I’m a 4th generation San Francisco Bay Area native and community member, living and working in the communities in which we do business. POP Mama POP! is a uniquely San Francisco Bay Area company that celebrates our heritage and our opportunities for continued sustainable and conscious growth through sourcing local when possible and providing clean delicious food for all while supporting the health and well being our our planet, communities and families.
POP Mama POP! produces a better product that helps make a better world. I work directly with the farmers that grow my corn to make sure they use and all organic process in growing my corn. I flavor each batch only with whole ingredients that you can find in your own cupboards – no chemicals or artificial flavors. I package the popcorn in earth-friendly, 100% compostable and marine degradable bags so that we are not adding the volume in the landfills.
It’s my passion the make the best tasting popcorn that is clean, delicious and socially and environmentally responsible for our bodies and our planet.

POP Mama POP! was started in my home kitchen. One day I popped a special recipe for a harvest party. Everyone enjoyed the popcorn so much that I stared giving it away for birthdays, holidays and many other occasions. People really loved it and wanted more.
One afternoon, while I was sitting in my backyard, my then 2 year old son was pushing his toy popper around the yard. He stopped, looked at me and said, “Pop mama pop.” And my fledgling company was named.
In 2012, I started commercially popping. My yummy and healthy treat became available for sale in local produce markets, online and at events.
